Certificate requirements OB vs eiDAS
UK-regulated / authorised TPPs
TPPs regulated or authorised in the UK must use OBWAC and OBSeal certificates issued by OBIE. No additional configuration is required. Any certificates that are active within the OBIE ecosystem can be used automatically when connecting to a Dedicated Interface.
EU-regulated / authorised TPPs
TPPs regulated or authorised in the EU must use eIDAS QWAC and QSeal certificates issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). A list of recognised QTSPs is available here.
Once valid eIDAS certificates are in place, the TPP must also host a JSON Web Key Set (JWKS) endpoint to support certificate validation.
Important Note:
If you are regulated in the UK you should use your OBIE-issued OBWAC and OBSeal certificates, rather than eIDAS certificates.
